Project Melan: Office Hours

I’ve been working on this one story for years, which is terrible because I can’t really share it with other people because, well, it’s incomplete. And at the rest I’m going, it’s going to be incomplete forever.

But, I will be mostly free for the rest of the year, so acting on my sister’s advice, I will attempt to spend the rest of the year living like a full-time writer.

Problem

If I try to write at home at my computer, with unrestricted internet access, I’ll keep taking ‘breaks’ and end up watching anime or something. Basically, what I’ve been doing, hence the incomplete novel.

Solution

Office hours.

Ok, maybe not the rigid 9-5 kind of office hour, but the current plan is to just walk over to the library near my house or a cafe closeby armed with pen and paper.

Basically, living the writer's dream.

Basically, living the writer’s dream.

Today, I wrote for about 2 hours straight while enjoying a cup of mocha. Then came back home and totally failed by playing games all the way until dinner.

Even then, I’ve done more in one day than I’ve done in a week.

So far so good.
