Drabble: The Kidsnatcher

The story post to tick off one of my January resolutions. Please enjoy my little drabble.

Genre: fantasy

~The Kidsnatcher~

A fist-sized shadow swallowed the rock and vanished into the ground.

She turned to her new friend, expecting shock or awe. Instead, she found lips pressed into an unimpressed frown.

“That’s it? That’s the kidsnatcher? Even my baby sister’s bigger than that.” The boy strode forward into the kidsnatcher’s hollow.

“Stop! Come ba-”

The shadow shot up like a crocodile and swallowed him in one gulp. Without a sound, the shadow tunneled back underground, and all she faced was an empty patch of land.

Well, there went another one.

She turned and headed back into her house.

“Mu~um, he ate another one.”

~End~
