Writing prompt: Walking into a lake

It doesn’t take long to find all kinds of writing prompts, ranging from one word to a whole paragraph. And yet, here I am, trying to create my own.

Prompt: Character A sees Character B walk into a lake.

Some questions to get those creative juices flowing.

  • Why is Character B walking into the lake?
  • What does Character A do?
  • Is there anyone else around besides Character A and B?
  • What’s the weather like?

If this prompt leads you to create a story, do send me a link of what you write, or put it in a comment. The more the merrier. It’s always interesting to see how different people can take the same prompt and bring it on wildly different directions.
