Drabble: Late Night Thoughts

My response to the August prompt ‘boring’.

Genre: general, angst

~Late Night Thoughts~

In their group of friends, they have a chef who makes the most addictive food, a super athlete who’s amazing at anything physical, a genius gadgeteer who can make anything out of anything, a master conversationalist who can engage anyone on any topic under the sun…

And then there’s her.

Not that she’s a failure, but she doesn’t stand out in any area. In terms of appearance and abilities, she’s only average. Compared to everyone else in the group, she’s so boring.

But they stick with her anyway.

At night, when she’s alone with her thoughts, she wonders why they haven’t left her behind. But she doesn’t dare to ask, so she can only wonder and pretend she actually belongs with this group of amazing people.
