Drabble: Morning Conundrum
My response to the prompt conundrum.
Genre: humour, slice of life
A shrill noise slice her dreams to ribbons. She groaned and smashed the button on her alarm clock. Nothing happened. She lifted the clock up to her face for a better view of the display screen.
What word becomes shorter when you add two letters to it?
She groaned again. It was too early in the morning for riddles.
The alarm continued to wail. She rolled off her bed. Noisy alarm clock in hand, she left her room for the dinning room. As expected, her dad was already seated at the table.
“Good morning!” he greeted cheerfully.
She growled and threw the alarm clock at him. There. The annoyance was gone. She headed back to her room and flopped right back into bed, right where she belonged on a Saturday morning.
Conundrum made me think of riddles.
I don’t know where the alarm clock came from.
