Drabble: Horsing Around

My response to the prompt moody.

Genre: general

~Horsing Around~

She poked her head through the stable door.

“Hey, wanna go for a ride?”

She shot back just before the hooves kicked the door.

“I’ll take that as a ‘no’.”

She turned back to the little customers behind her.

“Sorry kids. Looks like our star isn’t in a good mood. Let’s try his sister.”

Fortunately for them, the black mare next door was more willing to play. Unfortunately, that good mood didn’t stay long enough for all the little patrons to get their turn.

“Don’t worry. She’s just tired. Let’s switch.”

She led the mare back to her stall and returned to the first stall.

“Hey, how are you feeling now?”

A large chestnut nose bumped affectionately against her cheek.

“Great.”

What a pair these two equine siblings made. At least when one was in a bad mood, the other was usually fine.

~End~

This was another one of those stories where I didn’t know where it was going until I actually wrote things down. I don’t know where the horses came from, but sure.
