Drabble: Reverse Russian Roulette

Drabble: action

“Let’s play reverse Russian roulette. This has six rounds. Only one is empty.”

The ringleader placed the gun in front of him. He picked up the gun. It felt heavy. Like it was fully loaded.

“How lucky do you feel?” the ringleader teased. The other five underlings in the room snickered.

“Pretty lucky actually.”

Before anyone could react, he shot the ringleader, then every other person in the room. All his shots hit home, except for the last one.

Turns out the gun really was missing one round.

“Looks like you’re the lucky one,” he told the sole survivor. He grabbed the nearest gun. “Shall we play a second round?”

The last underling made a choked sound and fainted.

Kill him or let him live?

He checked the gun. Two out of five chambers were empty. He swung the cylinder back into place and aimed.

The gun would decide.

He fired.
