Drabble: Survival Qualms

Genre: general
Inspired by the prompt qualm. Features the same character from Logic versus Instincts.

 

Usually, all she got was a feeling.

This wasn’t just a gut feeling. This was her whole being screaming don’t go in.

 

“I’ll be quick. I just need to pick up something,” her friend said. She grabbed him by the arm.

“Let go.”

“No!”

Moments after they left, a fierce fire obliterated the shop, but left its neighbours untouched. Instead of relief, her friend felt curious.

“Let’s investigate!”

“Let’s not.”

But her friend wanted answers, so she followed him, unable to leave someone with such terrible survival instincts alone.
