Short Story: So Saintly

Genre: humour?

They used to tease the believers.

“Look at them. Acting all saintly. I bet if I take their money they’ll offer me more.”

“Not taking that bet. I wasn’t born yesterday.”

Then the flood hit, and it was those same believers who went around literally fishing people out of danger.

“I bet if I tell them I lost my home they’ll write me into their will.”

“Shut up.”

~End~
