Short Story: Worlds Away

Sometimes, when she slept, she dreamt of other worlds. Worlds where humans lived in cities built on tree tops, where everyone was born with a twin, where the colour of people’s eyes changed according to their emotion, where everyone had a physical space/room that reflected their mental space.

She loved those dreams. They were fun what ifs to explore. The best dreams were the ones where she found people she knew. Some remained the same no matter how much the world changed, while others were pretty much complete strangers wearing the face of her friends.

With the nonchalance of a dreamer, she wandered and observed the realities so similar to her own yet worlds away.
